'Destiny 2' DLC Release Date News: First Expansion Game 'Curse of Osiris' Is Out in December
More details on the much-awaited first expansion game of "Destiny 2" were recently announced, and these included its release date in December.
As already confirmed by Bungie previously, the earlier leaked "Curse of Osiris" is the real title of "Destiny 2's" first downloadable content. Publisher Activision then unveiled the DLC's first trailer during Sony's event ahead of the Paris Games Week.
In the first "Curse of Osiris" video teaser, the story was being narrated by the Warlock Vanguard Ikora Rey, who later revealed the great mission in the expansion game.
While talking to the Guardian, Ikora narrated: "While we have been fighting, an ancient gate has opened on Mercury. And an army of past and future machines amasses. They intend to reshape the universe in their image. But there is one who has glimpsed this dark future. He was my mentor: Osiris, the most notorious Guardian in Vanguard history."
However, Ikora revealed a not-so-impressive story about Osiris' past. The former Guardian was overwhelmed by his "dangerous ideas" and acted on it, which caused chaos to others and his own banishment.
Despite the ugly past of Osiris, Ikora still hoped her former mentor could somehow lend a hand in the looming invasion of machines. Based on Ikora's words, she only informed the Guardian about the whereabouts of Osiris making the main goal in the DLC somewhat a secret mission.
Ikora then sent the Guardian on a mission to Mercury to find Osiris and answer the question: "Will he be a powerful ally, or bring us death?"
While Activision announced the "Curse of Osiris" during a Sony event, the DLC is certainly going to be available on all platforms that "Destiny 2" supports, which are PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
"Curse of Osiris" is first of the two DLCs Bungie will release for "Destiny 2" and will be released on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Meanwhile, the second DLC is slated to arrive in spring of 2018.
