Did Google Earth Viral Image Capture 'Jesus' and 'Mary' in Switzerland?
Did Jesus and Mary make an appearance in Switzerland? A screenshot of a Google Maps Streetview image on the A5 road near Walensee in Switzerland has some on the internet claiming they saw the divine.
Photo enthusiasts say two shapes floating in the clouds above the mountains at the very least share a strong resemblance to the Son of God and his mother. Social media users have identified "Christ" as the tall figure wearing a black and burgundy cloak while Mary, as the shorter figure, in an outfit of pink and red.
The photo, which been shared hundreds of times across Twitter and Facebook, has not made believers out of everyone.
"As much as a Christian I am, I will never believe anyone has or will be greeted by any vision of Jesus or God or whoever. It's probably a smudge on the lens. Please don't fool yourself into thinking it's anything more," wrote one user, attempting to explain the phenomena.
But another viewer was not so quick to judge its veracity, writing: "Who is to say yay or nay? If it is: Amen. Fantastic."
Most skeptics attribute the image to a glitch in Google's imaging software, though Google has stayed mum about sighting so far.
