'Dishonored 2' Free Trial Arriving April 6
Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks' video game "Dishonored 2" will have a free demo available this week.
Since the highly anticipated video game lacked an official demo, the companies have finally decided to add a free trial of the game later this week, beginning Thursday, April 6, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
According to GameRant, the free trial will feature the video game's first three campaign missions, and gamers will have the chance to play as either Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano. With three missions available on the free trial from the total of nine in the full version of "Dishonored 2," interested gamers will have the opportunity to get a decent sampling of the game title and get a feel of what it is all about.
Those who wish to test out the free trial version of "Dishonored 2" will be able to do so by downloading the game from its store page on the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Marketplace or Steam, depending on the gamers' platform of choice.
Moreover, as an added incentive that should convince gaming enthusiasts to purchase a copy of the game's full version, Arkane Studios and Bethesda will also allow the saved data of gamers from the free trial to carry over to its complete edition should they wish to purchase one.
Though "Dishonored 2" was well-received by critics and fans alike, the game did not sell as well as the developers had hoped, witnessing lower first week sales than its predecessor. Hence, the move to release a trial version of the game is very likely an effort to attract more players to the game.
Set 15 years after the events of the original game, "Dishonored 2" tells the story of a crazed witch named Delilah and how she seized power during a coup. In an attempt to reclaim the throne, the player must take the role of either Corvo or Empress Emily and will be using a combination of weaponry and supernatural powers to accomplish this goal.
"Dishonored 2" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
