Ed Sheeran Reveals That He Wrote a 'James Bond' Song
Ed Sheeran reveals he had written a "James Bond" song.
It looks like Ed Sheeran is hopeful he would one day get asked to write a song for one of the "James Bond" films in the future. In a guest appearance on the Irish version of the "Late Late Show," the "Shape of You" singer confessed to writing a "James Bond" song about three years ago saying, "With Bond, I've had a theme tune written for about three years, just in case!"
Unfortunately for the 26-year-old international superstar's fans, Sheeran had been unwilling to divulge any more information regarding the song. However, he did assure his fans that the song is good.
With this latest news, it certainly is interesting to find out that a singer had written a song that no one had actually asked for. But to give clarity to his rationale for writing the "James Bond" song, Sheeran explains by saying, "I just recently did a song with one of my all time heroes, Eminem and when we did the song together I had already had this song. It's the same with Bond. If ever I am called, I will be like, 'Here you go.'"
If he would ever be asked to write a song for a "James Bond" film, he would be joining the ranks of Madonna, Tina Turner, Jack White and Tom Jones who have all contributed their singing voices to the iconic film franchise. Interestingly, though, it looks like the "James Bond" franchise itself has been taking mostly English singers like Adele and Sam Smith to sing their tunes, so Ed Sheeran may still have a chance to reveal his written song one day.
As for the next "Bond" film, it will be arriving sometime in 2019, starring Daniel Craig as the titular 007 agent, James Bond.
