'Elder Scrolls Online' Update: Clockwork City And Xbox One X Enhancements Out Now
"Elder Scrolls Online" players can now experience its newest DLC (downloadable content), Clockwork City. Alongside the expansion comes Update 16, which is free for all players and adds Xbox One X optimizations to the game.
Among the changes coming with the Clockwork City DLC include a new zone to explore, a new story quest line, and a new Trial. There's also the addition of the Transmutation System where players can change item traits.
The DLC also comes with a free Scintillant Dovah-Fly and the platform-specific Brassilisk pets as well as the usual assortments of new unique armor sets, customization items, crafting motifs, and more.
"Elder Scrolls Online" Plus members can get the DLC for free while non-Plus members can get it via the in-game Crown Store for the price of 2,000 crowns. A Clockwork City bundle is also available for 4000 crowns from the in-game Crown Store, which includes the DLC, the Clockwork Skeevaton pet, the Kagouti Fabricant mount, and Five Crown Experience Scrolls.
Alongside Clockwork City, the game also released Update 16 which brings, among others, enhancements to the game for the Xbox One X. These include changes to how the game renders objects and animations that will ultimately help improve frame rate, reduce load times, and stop some crashes.
The game will also run at true native 4K resolution without resorting to upscaling or checkerboarding techniques once it's connected to a 4K display. For those running on 1080p display, they will see the game in 1080p, but will still get all the graphical enhancements, with the added benefit of anti-aliasing.
"Elder Scrolls Online" is also ESO Live show this coming Friday where they will showcase the game on the Xbox One X. Players can tune in and get a chance to win an Xbox One X for themselves to enjoy the game in full 4K glory.
