'Elementary' Season 6 Spoilers: Will Sherlock Undergo Brain Surgery?
Sherlock's (Jonny Lee Miller) health condition may be discussed extensively in the upcoming season of "Elementary."
Now that CBS has added more episodes to the new installment, many fans are expecting an expanded storyline that will delve in Sherlock's mysterious predicament from the last finale. His doctors told him that he might have a brain tumor. It is possible that more details will be revealed about his condition. If Sherlock's health is indeed compromised, he may need to undergo treatment. Viewers may actually watch him endure surgery. Previously, executive producer Rob Doherty said that season 6 would not be kind to Sherlock. Even his work would be affected.
"... He'll also find his sobriety regimen 'competing' with a regimen designed to address his prognosis. There will be times he'll question whether he can tackle one problem without succumbing to the other. And, of course, there will be an impact on his work ... The work won't come as easily to him when the new season begins. At least not at first. In the meantime, he'll to have to commit himself to his health and to his partnership in ways that will be very challenging to him," the EP teased.

While Sherlock is dealing with this predicament, Joan (Lucy Liu) is expected to get over her disappointment and support her friend in his difficult times. The last installment did not end in a good note for the duo. Joan was angry that Sherlock snubbed Shinwell's (Nelsan Ellis) funeral. Meanwhile, CBS has yet to announce the release date of the new season. Speculations indicate that no new episodes will be aired until spring or summer. Instead of 13 episodes, as the network previously stated, there would be 21 in total. This number is still less than the usual set released by CBS in the past. The first four seasons all had 24 episodes each.
