'Empire' Season 2 Episode 9 Spoilers: Cookie Deals With Her Sister; Skye Summers Signs With Lucious' Company
There's only about a couple of episodes left before Fox's hit drama TV series "Empire" takes a long hiatus for its current sophomore season. But before the show temporarily closes its curtains, it is yet to drop yet another intense and heavy episode this week that will see the further complication of some of the interesting plotlines.
Titled "Sinned Against," the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic hints on Cookie dealing with the matters involving her sisters. At Empire, Jamal is having a good time jamming with the critically acclaimed pop star Skye Summers. Meanwhile, Laz begins to realize that there's more to the relationship he shares with Cookie.
The promo video shared over at Design & Trend further reveals the exciting events that are about to take place in the segment. The clip opened up with the artist, who Lucious just announced publicly as the new star on its roster, having a soulful duet with Jamal. The two seem to be getting along pretty well. In fact, the summary from TFC teased that they will "soon share a deep connection."
Also featured in the video is a confrontation scene between Candace and Cookie which happens on a busy street. The two are clearly not getting along well, based on the sharp remarks they throw at each other. However, it seems like they are about to set their differences aside as their other sister, Carol, needs their help.
Back at Empire, Lucious appears to be utterly delighted when he finds out that Andre's wife is pregnant.
"The Lyon legacy is gonna live on!" Lucious declared as he touches the woman's baby bump.
For Hakeem's part, he is about to face a difficult situation when Anika invites herself to his party. The latter was revealed to be Hakeem's lover and she is carrying the younger Lyon's child.
Towards the end of the video, a very tense scene between Laz, Cookie and Lucious unfolds. The lovers share a kiss in front of Lucious. The music label magnate seems to be affected by their public display of affection. He comes back with a snide remark:
"Nice to see you sipping a regular bottle," he said as he tipped a bottle on his way out.
"Empire" Season 2 airs this Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
