'Fear The Walking Dead' Spoilers: Colman Domingo Talks Season 4, Showrunner's Exit

"Fear the Walking Dead" star Colman Domingo shared his thoughts on the renewal of the spinoff series, two months ahead of the season 3 premiere.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the actor, who portrays Victor Strand in the hit series, revealed how they reacted to the renewal announcement.

"We were like, 'Wow, we've not even done [with Season 3 yet],'" said Domingo. "That's the enthusiasm of not only our producers, but the fans, the way people are receiving it, the way the show was building itself and building its audiences. Because I think we've finally found our audience. We're no longer the cousin of 'The Walking Dead' and receiving their fans, but we've been left to our own now."

Domingo also weighed in on showrunner Dave Erickson's exit. He said that they all trust in the creative process. He believes that the reason behind AMC's successful shows and a faithful audience is what happens behind the scenes.

Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg will take over Erickson as showrunner.

"Fear the Walking Dead" returns with a new episode this Sunday, Sept. 17, titled "La Serpiente."

As revealed in the synopsis for the episode, the Ranch needs to replenish their water supply, but they will need help from another community to accomplish the task.

The trailer for "LA Serpiente" shows Strand along with Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and Qaletaqa Walker (Michael Greyeyes). The three have teamed up to find water for their communities.

Strand pushes a beat up red Volkswagen beetle that is covering a manhole leading to the sewers. While the rest hesitate, Strand urges them that underground is their best chance of avoiding the dead. However, the Walkers will be the least of their worries.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 episode 11, titled "La Serpiente," airs Sunday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
