'Finding Carter' Season 3 Rumors: Netflix to Pick Up Canceled MTV Show?
Following the cancellation of "Finding Carter," fans have been striving to get the attention of MTV and other networks to bring the series back, and with more than 3,800 signatures on the online petition made by a fan, it seems there is hope for the show to return.
Bernadette Rentshler created the petition to bring back the show for its third season. "For too long, MTV has cancelled our favorite shows, just to create these new ones that we don't care about. It needs to stop," the petition says.
Arguably, the show deserves a third season. Some questions have remained unanswered and fans are begging for MTV to bring back the drama and thrill. It would also be possible that other networks will pick the show up, but the most likely network to save the show from its total demise is Netflix.
Recent rumors suggest that Netflix has some interest in the canceled show, and though there has been no official confirmation, fans are already rejoicing. The streaming service is known to renew some shows that have either gone down the drain or peacefully left TV screens.
A fan asked creator Emily Silver on Twitter last week if Netflix will give the series its chance to be renewed. "Don't hold your breath, but if there's ever the opportunity to play with those characters, I'm in. #FindingCarter," she replied.
It is unclear if she's hinting that she could be in early talks for the show's huge comeback or if she is merely giving fans something to hope for. On the other hand, it would be reasonable to give the show another chance since it is obvious that there are a couple of storylines that need to be addressed further.
One of the blurry storylines that ended before the show was canceled is that of Max's (Alex Saxon) journey after a murder in town. He previously said in an interview that he would like to see more of Max's story and the aftermath of his possible jail time, especially noting that Taylor (Anna Jacoby-Heron) will be greatly affected if ever Max lands in jail.
