The Fitbit Charge 2 will have a new PurePulse heart-rate tracking technology, a feature which is not present in the original model. Moreover, the new fitness device will support multi-sport, as well as all-day sleep and activity tracking, with smartphone notifications.

Released in November 2014, the original Fitness Charge replaced the Fitness Force. It costs $130. The price details of Fitness Charge 2 are still unknown.

Fitbit Flex 2

Fitbit Flex 2, the new version of the 3-year-old Fitbit Flex, will be ideal for pool exercises because of its "swim proof" capability. The previous model is sweat resistant but it is not totally waterproof.

Moreover, Fitbit Flex 2 comes with a much simpler look and will more likely be cheaper than the Fitbit Charge 2. Previous features of the original model such as the all-day battery life and sleep tracking are retained.

The original model of Fitness Flex costs $100. The fitness tracking device hit the market in May 2013. It possesses the combined features of the Fitbit One and Fitbit Zip.

Release Dates

According to the website, the release dates of Fitbit Charge 2 and Fitbit Flex 2 are still unknown. However, the leaked images suggested that November 27 is the release date of at least one of the new products.

Concerns

Iowa State University conducted a study in 2014 and found out that the Fitbit band devices are reasonably accurate. In 2015, the Center for Behavioral Cardiovascular Health performed another study and confirmed that Fitbit devices are reliable and accurate.

According to Engadget, Fitbit faced several skin rash issues with its past models of fitness trackers. Over the years, the company took measures to eliminate the concerns and continue to lead the fitness wearable market amid setbacks.

Tech Crunch also reported that the fitness wearable company is facing a class-action lawsuit after researchers from California State Polytechnic University found inaccuracy on its devices' heart-rate data.
