Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao 2 Rematch Fight Rumors 2016: Pac-Man Willing To Postpone Retirement For Another Shot at Mayweather

First and only eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao says he is willing to hold off his retirement plans if he does get the opportunity to fight retired undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a rematch.

Pacquiao is slated to fight his 66th and final bout on April 9th against reigning WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley.

The event is scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena is Las Vegas, the same venue where his two fights with "Desert Storm" were held in 2012 and 2014, respectively. "Pacman" opted to finally retire after two decades of professional boxing to place his focus solely on public service in his home country in the Philippines.

The Sarangani Province congressman is currently running for a Senatorial seat at the May 2016 Philippine elections. Mayweather and Pacquiao finally faced each other in the boxing ring after five years of negotiations last May.

As expected by many, however, Mayweather emerged victorious via a wide unanimous decision margin, and was subsequently branded as the "greatest fighter of this era." But apparently, Pacquiao is still aching to have another crack at "Money May".

In a report by Edward Chaykovsky for Boxingscene, the 37-year old Pacquiao believes having a rematch with Floyd Jr. would be his way of ending his career on a high note.

"I have been very vocal about it (fighting Mayweather) even before the Bradley fight was made official on New Year's Eve. The reason is simple, I want to end my 21-year boxing career with a bang, so to speak,"

Pacquiao said. For his part, Mayweather says he will be staying retired, despite his name being continuously mentioned to this day.

His father, Floyd Sr., also reiterated that a rematch between both men would never happen.

As for Pacquiao, the main concern remains to be the sport's fans, whom he believed was shortchanged by the outcome of their May 2nd "mega fight".

"We could have given that last May when we faced each other but due to unavoidable circumstances, sports fans failed to get the results they wanted."
