'Fortnite' Gameplay News: New 1.8 Update Brings 'Fortnitemares' Event and More

"Fortnite" will be having a new event called "Fortnitemares" that will introduce a new environment, additional heroes, and more in their upcoming 1.8 update.

Publishers Epic Games will be introducing a new event in "Fortnite," called "Fortnitemares," where players will experience the new world of Hexylvania.

"It's time to travel to Hexylvania, where all of your Fortnitemares come true! The 1.8 Patch releases Oct 26," the official "Fortnite" account announced on Twitter, along with a preview of the new world.

Epic Games teases that Hexylvania will have mazes of catacombs, deep hallways with candles wavering, and a map ridden with a thick layer of fog, Play Station Lifestyle confirmed.

Aside from that, Hexylvania comes with 25 new Story Quests that players can enjoy this Halloween season. New Spooky Creatures, such as the Pumpkin Head Husk and the Vampire Taker, will also be introduced.

With new villains come new weapons to defeat them as well. A Pumpkin Launcher will be added to the list of weaponry in Hexylvania, the one that can defeat the Pumpkin Head Husks. Meanwhile, a Grave Digger will also be added to the list. Hopefully, it will be significant in beating Vampire Takers.

There will also be eight new Heroes from Hexylvania. However, players will have to wait for the update to discover who the new additions to the game are.

"Fortnitemares" will also include a Spooky Llama, which players can buy using candies.

Players who still have a lot of currencies left from "Horde Bash" should not worry about them going to waste. "Fortnite" will convert them to scavenger tickets.

If there will be downtime on the day of the launch, Epic Games ensures players that it's only because of the game's transition from "Horde Bash" to "Fortnitemares," and that things will return to a smooth run in no time.

Players can catch the "Fortnitemares" event in the game's new 1.8 update out on Oct. 26. The "Horde Bash" event will also be ending on the same day.

"Fortnite" is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
