20th Century Fox Home Entertainment (TCFHE) – distributors of such faith-based family offerings as Because of Winn Dixie, Billy Graham Presents…, The Bible, and The Sound of Music - are the holders of all top 5 positions in the video category per the Mar. 19, 2006 SoundScan report.

In the top slot for video sales on the report was TCFHE’s film adaptation of Frank Peretti’s best-selling thriller novel The Visitation - a film that chronicles the interaction between the small town of Antioch and a self-proclaimed Jesus character played by Edward Furlong. Other titles following were Michael Landon Jr.’s film production of novelist Janette Oke’s Love’s Long Journey, Love Comes Softly, and Loves Enduring Promise, with the award-winning documentary Beyond The Gates of Splendor, which was transformed this year into the major motion picture The End of the Spear, closing out the list.

TCFE impact on the Christian marketplace specifically, which began with the distribution of Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, has come primarily through the company’s partnership with Nashville-based Word Distribution, which has worked with TCFE in establishing 300 Family Home Entertainment (FHE) centers to Christian Booksellers Association (CBA) stores nationwide, more of which are expected to set up in the upcoming months.

We're excited to present the next phase of that partnership to our Christian retail accounts in the coming months."

Upcoming releases from TCFE include The End of the Spear in June and the fourth installment of the Janette Oke series, Love’s Abiding Joy later in 2006. Works from Ted Dekker (Three) and Francine Rivers are also on the horizon.
