Switzerland will play France on Friday as both teams look to take a grip on group E. Both these teams won their opening games and come into this game tied on three points each. However, both will want to gain a second win today to put them on the verge of qualifying for the Last 16. The game will start at 3 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the ESPN network or online through free live stream (details below).
Switzerland gained a good victory in their opening game, defeating Ecuador 2-1. However, the task before them today will be very different, and France will be slight favorites to take the three points today.
In team news, Admir Mehmedi may come in instead of winger Valentin Stocker, and also Haris Seferovic will likely be left out again in favor of Josip Drmic.
Meanwhile, for France, midfielder Yohan Cabaye is a slight doubt, although all indications are that he will be declared fit despite his recent groin injury, and he could start today's game.
Swiss assistant coach Michel Pont has played down any talk that Switzerland are favorites to win this game: "Us, favorites? Absolutely not. Frankly, the current French team impresses me, they have found harmony. It's extremely difficult to find their weak points, it is the first time I have experienced this in 13 years. We have to create their weak points, by improvising and taking each chance."
Meanwhile, France boss Didier Deschamps of Switzerland has said, "They'll be obviously be committed, but it won't be anything like we had (against Honduras). Their attacking line is much different, with much more individual quality, especially with the wingers who are heavily involved."
Today's big game between France and Switzerland will kick off at 3 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the ESPN network. The game can also be watched online through free live stream by clicking here.
