Free Food Alert: Krispy Kreme to Give Away Free Doughnuts on 'Talk Like A Pirate Day!'
Ahoy, mateys! Be ye ready for ye best impression o' a pirate, ye scallywag, because America's favorite doughnut hole, Krispy Kreme is giving away free glazed doughnuts on "Talk Like APirate Day," Sept. 19 (Monday) for every customer who talks like a pirate!
This is in line with Krispy Kreme's "Talk Like A Pirate" tradition since 2012, taking advantage of the long list of crazy fake holidays for discounts and free food from the best food chains and more!
And if you have absolutely no sense of dignity whatsoever, Krispy Kreme will also offer a dozen free glazed doughnuts for anyone who comes in a Krispy Kreme store dressed in full pirate garb. And no, you can't skimp on the costume: Krispy Kreme declared that qualifying costumes must include three pirate items, like an eye patch, bandana or a peg leg.

Other Krispy Kreme gimmicks
Of course, we know you're seriously considering that walk of shame to the mall to get free food, and so we'd like to inform you that there is a much saner option. You can use Krispy Kreme's Snapchat pirate filter and you'll still get the free dozen. According to a press release, this is the first time the donut chain worked with Snapchat for a national campaign. The offer is available in most locations except Anchorage, Hickory and Lenoir, Puerto Rico, Spartanburg and Anderson, and casino locations.
In the spirit of "Talk Like A Pirate" Day, Krispy Kreme will also release two pirate doughnuts: the Pirate Doughnut, which features a pirate face; and a Skull and Crossbones Doughnut, which is topped with chocolate icing and a skull candy piece.
Other promos on National Pirate Day
There's no shortage of food chains who take advantage of the whimsical tendencies of people to do crazy things for free food. For "Talk Like a Pirate Day," Seafood chain Long John Silvers will also celebrate the day with a free piece of Alaskan Whitefish or chicken for customers who talk like a pirate, while customers in full pirate regalia will be rewarded with free two-piece fish or a chicken basket.
But if you're not up to pirate talk, or aren't interested in free doughnuts (Why?), there's still "National Coffee Day." Expect heart-stopping promos and discounts from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Cumberland Farms, Peet's Coffee and Tea, Krispy Kreme and more! In addition to free coffee, Krispy Kreme will also be offering free donuts - you're welcome.
