'Game of Thrones' Cast News: Engagement of Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Confirmed

"Game of Thrones" stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are engaged.

Fans of the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones" know that weddings, in particular, don't have great endings on the show. But if there is one wedding that would excite "Game of Thrones," it would have to be Kit Harington and Rose Leslie's wedding. Just recently, it has been revealed that the two have gotten engaged.

People magazine was the first to break the news on Tuesday, but shortly after, a wedding announcement was made via the Times of London newspaper.

"MR. K.C. HARINGTON AND MISS R.E. LESLIE. The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughters of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire," the announcement reads via BBC.

Harington and Leslie first met on the set of "Game of Thrones" back in 2012 playing star-crossed lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte. Their relationship quickly ignited a slew of online memes with Ygritte's dying words, "You know nothing, Jon Snow," becoming Internet famous.

Leslie would depart from the show two years after, and Harington would eventually become one of the series' protagonist. But while Leslie may have left the show, it looks like their relationship persisted.

However, it was only in 2016 that the two officially confirmed their relationship while attending the Olivier Awards held in London together.

Both 30, Harington revealed to L'uomo Vogue that they fell in love in Iceland while filming the show's second season. "Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love," he says.

Harington further explained that it wasn't that hard to fall for Leslie. According to him, since he was already attracted to her in the first, playing love interests in the show had made it quite easy to fall for each other.
