'Game of Thrones' Live Concert Tour is Coming in 2017: What To Expect, Full Schedule & Ticket Details
From the small screen, "Game of Thrones" is set to invade the concert stage. HBO has announced on Monday that the hit television series will be embarking a live concert tour to 28 U.S. cities next year.
Music is Coming
Time reports that HBO broke the news during the jam-packed "Game of Thrones" fan event held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California. The live concert experience will feature the music of the world of Westeros, with the series' music scorer Ramin Djawadi conducting a full orchestra and choir.
The arena tour will showcase the greatest hits in the previous seasons including the best-loved soundtrack "Light of the Seven," "The Children" and "Mhysa."
Performances will be presented on a 360-degree stage that will be filled with the elements of the Emmy Award-winning show through special 3D designs and LED telescoping and wall screens. The live concert will also show some footage of the series that are exclusively taken for the tour.
Djawadi revealed to Billboard that it took them several years to conceptualize the upcoming live concert tour. He said that they want the concert event to be special in order to give the audience an "immersive experience" of Westeros.
D.B. Weiss and David Benioff told BBC that they are excited about the upcoming live concert. The executive producers teased that it would feature the perfect blend of Djawadi's moving compositions and the show's high-tech visuals.
