'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers: Fans Expect Book Spoilers As Season Airs Before 'Winds Of Winter' Comes Out
Gone are the days when fans of the novel series "A Song of Fire and Ice" can say that they already know whatever gruesome event happens in the "Game of Thrones" even before it happens because they have read it. George R.R. Martin disappointed fans of both the book series and the TV series when he finally admitted that his latest novel, "Winds of Winter" will not be published before the start of season six. According to a report in Digital Spy, this meant that the coming season will bring spoilers for the book.
The website also rounded up some of the major spoilers for the coming season. In terms of returning characters, season six is said to bring back another Stark to the story.
Bran Stark, played by Isaac Hempstead Wright, will be dealing with "his powers," which is the power of the Sight that allows him to see the past, the present and the future. With this character's return, the report also said that fans can expect to see Hodor (Kristian Nairn) and Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) as well.
The report also addressed the question of whether Jon Snow is showing up alive in the coming season. The showrunners have not confirmed nor denied this and the recent video teaser showing the character prominently adds another level of mystery to the question.
In season six, the two queens in the story, Cersei Lannister (Lean Headey) and Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) will also go head-to-head eventually. According to Natalie Dormer, her character Margaery Tyrell will be having other problems, the least of which is Cersei.
Riverrun will also be featured in the storyline this season, which is the childhood town of Catelyn Stark that was last seen in season three. The town's castle will be inhabited by The Blackfish Brynden Tully, played by Clive Russell.
In the novels' universe, there are a few characters that were not included in the TV series, and according to the report, the showrunners earlier teased that they might consider the appearance of some of these interesting people who were taken out because of the limits of TV storytelling.
"Game of Thrones" season six will premiere on HBO sometime April 2016.
