'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Plot Rumors: Fans Theorize About Night King's Master Plan, Melisandre's Return

HBO's "Game of Thrones" is probably the series that has the most number of fan theories out there. There is a theory about almost every character and every event that takes place in the story.

Now, another one has popped up and it predicts the Night King's (Vladimir Furdik) master plan. However, it is not the fan theory about Bran Stark, a.k.a. the Three-Eyed Raven (Isaac Hempstead Wright), and the leader of the White Walkers being one and the same. The young actor himself already dismissed this particular idea.

According to a Reddit thread, the Night King will bring his undead followers to the Isle of Faces, an island situated in the Gods Eye lake, and use its rumored magical properties to bring the White Walkers back to life.

The Children of the Forest were the ones responsible for creating the first White Walkers, including the Night King himself, who all turned against their creators eventually. Also, it can be recalled that the Isle of Faces was where the Children and the First Men made a pact to join forces to defeat the White Walkers.

Screen Rant thinks that this particular fan theory may be plausible as it makes more sense for the Night King to have this kind of goal than to just kill every living thing in the world.

Having been barricaded by The Wall for many years, using Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) dragon Viserion to take it down could have been his plan all along, which hints that he is indeed capable of coming up with complex schemes to achieve his goal.

Meanwhile, there is also another new fan theory about another character on the show.

After successfully bringing Daenerys and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in season 7, Melisandre (Carice van Houten) is said to return in the final season of "Game of Thrones" and will play a much bigger role.

The Red Woman was last seen speaking with Lord Varys (Conleth Hill) on a cliff at Dragonstone, where she revealed to him that she was leaving for Volantis. The theory is that she is headed to this particular place because she is looking to get the Fiery Hand army to fight for Daenerys in the Great War.

With her dedication to the Lord of Light and her new-found belief that the Mother of Dragons is the "Azor Ahai," which translates to the "Prince/Princess that Was Promised," she will do everything in her power to keep her alive.

While the Fiery Hand was never introduced in the show, they played an important role in George R. R. Martin's books.

In "A Dance with Dragons," Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) saw these soldiers when he traveled to Volantis and learned that they work for the Lord of Light.

For now, these theories will remain as they are. Fans will find out how the story ends when "Game of Thrones" season 8 arrives on HBO.
