Gas Station Attendant Amazes 'American Idol' Judges With Christian Song After Driving All Night to Audition (VIDEO)

Credit :

Jesse Cline is a gas station attendant who knows what he wants, and he drove through the night to get it.

When "American Idol" held auditions in Atlanta, the 19-year-old drove eight hours in the middle of the night from his home of Ashland, Ken. to make it on time. He works nights at a Racer's convenience store, so staying awake for the drive was no problem.

This wasn't his first attempt at "American Idol" stardom.

"I tried in 2011 at Charleston, S.C. I sang 'Stand By Me,'" he told The Independent. "They let me sing for about 15 seconds and said, 'Bye-Bye.'"

This time, he had a "front of the line pass" at the Atlanta auditions after participating in an "American Idol" competition at Disney World last year.

In the video, Cline steps before the panel of Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr., and the judges don't know what to expect. After introducing himself, he goes into the verse of "Washed By the Water" by Christian rock band NEEDTOBREATHE.

Before the singer can make it to the chorus, Connick stops him; he'd heard enough, and it was good. The judges agree, and the gas station attendant is on his way to Hollywood.
