George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin Do Dinner With Actor's Parents in Italy (PHOTOS)

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin enjoyed an intimate dinner with the actor's parents in Italy on Wednesday.

The engaged couple have spent the past week bonding with their respective families at Clooney's Italian villa in Lake Como and yesterday Nick and Nina Clooney accompanied them for dinner at famous eatery La Colombetta. Both the Hollywood actor, 53, and the British human rights lawyer, 36, wore head-to-toe black for the happy occasion.

The couple is expected to tie the knot in Venice this fall, however, Clooney is said to have decided against holding the wedding at his Lake Como estate due to privacy. The highly anticipated event would likely cause chaos and inconvenience the locals, the New York Post reported.

"George and Amal want to be married in Italy, but they need a location that offers them and their guests privacy," a source told Page Six.

On June 22, Clooney's parents along with Alamuddin's mother Baria reportedly gathered at the Hollywood actor's 18th-century villa. The first time meeting between the families went very well and sources claim there was some discussion about Clooney's upcoming wedding to Alamuddin.

"They were outside, and Amal and her mom were smiling," a source told People. "It was going pretty great."

Clooney and the Lebanese-born lawyer announced their engagement in April, six months after they began dating. While the couple have not publicly revealed a wedding date, insiders claim they plan on tying the knot on September 20, 2014.

"They've told family and friends they will only disclose the location at the last minute, and it will be very private," an insider told Radar Online.

"Neither George nor Amal want the wedding to be a public affair — and her family really doesn't either," the source went on.

Clooney, a successful Hollywood star, is passionate about humanitarian work and he has been at the forefront of advocacy for resolving the war in Darfur. Alamuddin, who was born in Beirut and raised in England, also has a philanthropic background.

Alamuddin is currently representing Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and is an adviser to Kofi Annan, the special envoy to Syria.
