Chapman has been a constant presence in the show ever since she first appeared back in 2012. However, fans of the show had feared that the designer would not be participating in the show's newest season due to the controversy her husband is currently involved in. "Project Runway All Stars" is co-produced by The Weinstein Company, which Harvey Weinstein was previously a part of before getting fired by its board.

Furthermore, Chapman who shares two children with the producer, has announced that she is separating from her husband of 10 years following the allegations being thrown at him. "My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time," she announced.

Harvey Weinstein has been accused by eight women, including actress Ashley Judd, of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior. Afterwards, several women had come forward regarding their own experiences of sexual harassment from the hands of the 65-year-old producer including A-list actresses such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie.
