'Gilmore Girls' Updates: Fest to Continue in 2018 Even if Series Will Not Return

The "Gilmore Girls" fever has yet to die as fans of the series continue to hold on to the possibility that there would be more for "A Year in the Life."

Although speculations are rife that the chances of having a continuation of the revival are close to nil, nothing will stop the "Gilmore Girls" fandom from holding yet another fest. According to Bustle, the annual event will still push through next year. Organizers Jennie and Marcus Whitaker have reportedly greenlit the selling of tickets on Dec. 15 and they are expected to be sold out soon.

As with the previous fan fests, the 2018 event will be held in Kent, Connecticut. Many fans are looking forward to seeing the "Gilmore Girls" stars who will grace the fun and festivities. In the past, Liz Torres (who played Miss Patty,) Tanc Sade (who played Finn,) Keiko Agena (who played Lane Kim) and Todd Lowe (who played Zack) all went to bond with the show's many followers.

The Whitakers have also been known for organizing Gilmore Girls inspired activities. There were Friday night dinners, a "knit-a-thon," coffee a la Luke's Diner at the hardware and many more. There was even a partial reunion from Stars Hollow's rock band, Hep Alien, in the previous fest.

In November, series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said that they have no plans for "A Year in the Life" part 2. According to her, it would take a lot of work to spearhead another reunion for the original casts. She and husband Daniel are also busy working on Amazon's "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."

"... The thing about Gilmore Girls is, it's an amorphous thing. The reason that it happened the first time is that we all went to that Austin [ATX] Festival and we all sat together and there was an open bar and we were all sitting there saying, 'It feels good now, let's do it now.' I think it would have to be a similar situation. ... There's nothing being planned right now but it's open if the muse strikes," Sherman-Palladino said.
