Golden State Warriors Roster, Injury News 2017: Draymond Green Remains Sidelined With Right Shoulder Injury
While guard Stephen Curry continues to make significant strides in his recovery from an ankle injury, forward Draymond Green's ailing right shoulder doesn't seem to be getting better and the Golden State Warriors are starting to get a little worried.
"At first, it didn't seem like it would be more than a few days, and it's obviously carried on further than that," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said, via NBC Sports BayArea. "So it's a little bit concerning that he hasn't made bigger strides," he continued.
Of course, Kerr would continue to downplay the seriousness of the injury by saying that he still doesn't think that "there's a major reason for concern."
Green has missed three of the Warriors' last four games and he has already been ruled out of their matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. The All-Star forward will likely have to sit out more games this week if his condition doesn't improve and he can't be happy about that.
"Draymond is not happy, I can tell you that. He's happiest when he's on the floor, hair on fire, screaming at everybody and competing. That's what he loves," Kerr said, according to the Mercury News.
"But Draymond also knows that this is the smart approach. He's not complaining, but I wouldn't call him happy either. He wants to play," he added.
Kerr also noted that they weren't sure how Green got hurt his shoulder and he said it was probably caused by wear and tear.
The Warriors have continued to win games without Green (and Curry) on the floor so they will likely keep him out until he's fully healthy this time.
Green is averaging 10.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.4 blocks in 25 games this season. He's also shooting 54.1 percent from the field, 33 percent from beyond the arc, and 76.2 percent from the free-throw line.
