'Gotham' Season 1 Spoilers: Harvey Dent Works With Detective Gordon
"Gotham" is an American crime television series developed by Bruno Heller and airs on the Fox network. The series is based on the characters from the Batman franchise by DC Comics. It primarily features a young Detective James Gordon and his early days with the Gotham City police force.
The story also includes Bruce Wayne but the series also tells the origina stories of several Batman villains such as Joker, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Harvey Dent, Mr. Freeze, and the Penguin. The series is currently on its first season which premiered on Sept. 22 last month. Initially it consisted of 16 episodes but was extended to 22.
In a few episodes, viewers have been seeing some to-be Batman archvillains and Ben McKenzie, who plays Gordon in the series. At the New York Comic Con the debut of Harevy Dent was revealed. In an interview, McKenzie said that his character and Dent would be working together towards the end of the season.

"They're learning from each other. And we just started shooting that stuff. It's cool, because Harvey's just an assistant district attorney at this stage of our story, and much more idealistic than later versions of him. Yeah, so they form a team of sorts," McKenzie says.
Executive producer Danny Cannon says that Dent will be debuting in episode nine.
"In episode nine, we're meeting him. What's great about him is he's another idealistic assistant DA who understands, just like Jim does, how corrupt this place is," Cannon says. "There's no hint yet about a dark side to this guy. It's much more about is he going to help Jim through this world or are they actually going to be at odds?"
There's also the relationship between Gordon and Oswald Cobblepot, the future Penguin. Robin Lord Taylor who plays as Cobblepot says that his and Gordon's stories will be running parallel to each other.
"We're deepening the relationship between Gordon and Penguin in the sense that Gordon would probably prefer this isn't happening. But their relationship just keeps getting deeper and deeper. And in a weird way, they both sort of need each other," Taylor says.
