Habitat for Humanity Purchases Project Management Software Due to Generous Donation
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI has received a large donation from a company that provides project, program and portfolio management solutions toward its purchase a software that will help the ministry better manage its home-building projects.
The ecumenical Christian ministry which is determined to end poverty housing announced Monday that International Institute for Learning, Inc. (IIL) donated “substantial” funds toward the purchase of the Unified Project Management® Methodology (UPMM(TM)) solution, an industry-tested Intranet solution that allows an organization to effectively manage projects.
"Without the gift, Habitat would not have been able to afford the vital software that will greatly improve the way Habitat manages projects around the world," said Kirby Waggoner, Habitat for Humanity International liaison for project management director.

"The software will be tailored to suit the needs of Habitat for Humanity International and provides templates, examples and guidance for everyone from the entry-level project manager to the experienced senior project manager."
Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, who said they left their millionaire lifestyles to rededicate their life to God. The ministry first began in Millard’s law office in Americus, Ga., but its works has spread to over 100 countries since. By the end of the year 2005, the organization plans to build its 200,000th house.

"By utilizing our project management solution it is our hope that HFHI and its volunteers can build new and safe homes in partnership with low-income families quicker and more efficiently than ever before. According to HFHI, the project management software was piloted this summer and will soon be available to Habitat staff members worldwide.
