Even if 2016 Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton endorses Shariah law for minority communities, she will still have the support of some of her most loyal fans.

In a new viral YouTube video released Monday, media analyst Mark Dice tells Hillary supporters that one of her primary campaign promises is to implement Shariah law in America. He then asks if she still has their support and they remained unfazed.

The majority of those interviewed said they would support Shariah law if Clinton supported it. At least one person admitted they did not know what Shariah law is.

Shariah law, according to a report by the BBC, is Islam's legal system. The law comes from both the Quran, Islam's central text, and fatwas — the rulings of Islamic scholars.

The term Shariah means "the clear, well-trodden path to water." The law serves as a code for living which all Muslims are required to follow. It includes traditions in prayer, fasting and donations to the poor.

The law is also divided into two broad categories: "hadd" offences ae considered serious crimes with set penalties while "tazir" crimes attract punishment meted out at the discretion of judges.

Crimes such as theft are considered Hadd offenses and offenders can be punished with the amputation of a hand. Adultery can result in being stoned to death.

The UN has spoken out against death by stoning, saying it "constitutes torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and is thus clearly prohibited."
