How Pig Pen Christians Can Shine During the End Times
With the ongoing eruption of wars, famines, devastating earthquakes, and continual unrest throughout the world, one question remains – have the end times come?
Many theologians are attributing the current events of wars, famines, and earthquakes in diverse places to a reference in Matthew 24 as the signs of the end. Christians and more and more non-Christians are beginning to sense the reality of Biblical prophecies come to life.
Agreeing that the world is witnessing the markers of the last days, international evangelist and teacher David Martin seeks to impart a peace that transcends all circumstances, believing that those who are spiritually prepared will go through the end times victoriously.
The basis of Martin's belief is based on the words of Christ revealed through the Scriptures, along with his own supernatural encounters with God.
Martin appeared on Sid Roth's "It's Supernatural" televised program this week, explaining to viewers how he himself was anointed by God with this peace that he desires to share with all who are willing to listen.
Just like many today, Martin was a "pig pen Christian," like the prodigal son. Living a life of immorality, drugs, and alcohol, Martin had a life-changing experience with God in 1979 and received full understanding of the love and grace of God.
Using John 14:12 as his banner, where Jesus said "whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing… and even greater things than these," the president of Dave Martin Ministries began his life long quest to understand how Jesus did what he did and to teach others to do the same.
"My desire is to help you walk in the fullness of the life Jesus came to give you," Martin shared on his website. "[And] to help you understand the importance of having biblical sound teaching in your heart that whatever doctrine comes your way you're going to be able to discern if its right or wrong because you know God's word."
Urging believers to separate themselves from the ways of the world and according to Romans 12, offer their bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, the evangelist firmly trusted that God would transform believers by the renewing of their mind.
Speaking with Roth, Martin revealed that while driving home one night from a revival in 2005, he received three prophetic words from God. First, bad times were coming. Martin relayed that he literally saw a Katrina of sorts in his vision, just four months prior to the devastation. God impressed upon him a wake-up call.
The second message was that God's people were not taking his word seriously, picking and choosing only the parts that they liked, like the prosperity gospel.
"God said we need to look at the totality of the Word," Martin shared. "One thing specifically he spoke to me of significance was the sowing and reaping. That as we sow, we will reap. God said, 'I'm not mocked in this.'"
Roth inquired if this 'sowing and reaping' only applied to money, as many people attribute it to.
"Every thought – not just our deeds, but those thoughts that we think on, those things that we're meditating on. He taught me the importance of meditating on the Word."
The last prophetic word was that people were too caught up with the things of the world and themselves, which made them selfish.
"The gifts of the spirit are all about getting people saved, coming to know the love of God and how God is good," the pastor explained. "He's got a good plan for our lives."
Traveling the world to share the good news, Africa has been the primary continent God has directed Martin and his ministries to.
Demonstrating further, God's hand in each believer's life, Martin described that every follower of Christ must shine and radiate with the glory of God.
Sharing with Roth two particular experiences he had while in Africa, Martin testified of two anointings he himself received that brought him a peace so strong and tangible that it allowed him to overcome every negative circumstance.
In the 1930's, there was a revival that went through East Central Africa. It was called "The Shining One Movement." The people of that movement literally shined and radiated the glory of God, a movement Martin learned of later while visiting Africa. The revival touched in particular, the eastern tribal people of Zaire.
On the mountaintop of that region, four prophecies were given in 1965: There would be great war in Zaire, followed by great men of God going to heaven in flames, followed by more war, followed by great revival.
Martin learned of these prophecies 33 years later through a widow while in Africa for a pastor's conference. This was after two of the prophesies had already been fulfilled – civil war had overthrown Zaire in 1998, now the Democratic Republic of Congo, and great leaders had died in a plane crash on the very mountaintop where the prophecies were given.
All the victims were buried in a common grave, majority of them unrecognizable because of the fire. One of the deceased was Martin's best friend, David Ndaruhutse, a man tortured for his faith in Christ while on Edie Amien's torture tables.
Relaying this revelation to Martin, the wife of one of the victims in the plane crash, told the pastor the victims were not buried, they were planted.
The widow explained that God spoke to her while she went to identify her husband at the crash site, telling him that God showed her a window, ejected from the plane, to paint a picture of a prophetic window, which God was opening to pour out his spirit.
That night, Martin dreamt of what he believed to be Elijah's bones. A man was thrown on the bones and the man came alive. God told Martin that those bones were on the common grave on the same mountaintop and that there, Martin would be given a resurrection anointing.
Two weeks after the plane crash, the country went back to war, the third prophesy, and in the midst of war, on the mountaintop, which was used as a military base, God brought Martin back four months later to commemorate those who had died.
35,000 people gathered during that time, some walking over 40 miles to be there.
On the first night, Martin's prophet friend had called Martin and told him she had an out of body experience where God showed her two entities fighting: spirit and self. And God told her that he was going to release an anointing to cause spirit to overtake self and he was sending David to receive it.
After three days, amongst thousands of people, an incredible anointing hit Martin – God called it a resurrection anointing, but he believed the manifestation of it was peace. Asking God to help him understand, he was taken to Ephesians 5, where it read wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead and Christ will shine on you.
"I believe that the church is a sleeping giant. And God is releasing anointing and knowledge of his Word that causes us to rise from the dead and shine."
Receiving another call from God to go to the birthplace of the Shining One Movement, Martin went to a chapel where the revival started. There, he met one of the original founders of the movement, a man by the name of Enoch, who further taught him about the transfigured anointing.
"He explained to me, this anointing, this movement really wasn't about shining. It was about holiness," he stated to Roth. "The presence of God was so strong that people literally could not live with any kind of sin and [came] to the altar every day repentant [of] every bad thought, bad action."
"And he said what happened over the course of time was they started shining."
Enoch prayed for Martin, and he too received the "shining anointing" which gave Martin an awe and real fear of the Lord. Martin earnestly desired from that moment on to walk with God in righteousness, feeling closer to God than he ever imagined possible.
"The same way that God anointed Jesus [when he baptized him with the Holy Ghost] is the same way he anoints you and I," Martin disclosed. Giving him supernatural peace, the anointing led him to a closer walk in the Word, allowing the Scriptures not to be choked by the worries of the world.
Prayerfully imploring "pig pen Christians" to be prepared spiritually for the end times, the revivalist voiced the need for believers to stop conforming to the pattern of this world and purpose to be a spirit led, spirit filled person.
"The hope of America, the hope of the world, your hope is walking in this kind of peace."
A 10 CD set created by Martin entitled "Spiritual Preparation for End Times" is available for donation covering topics such as live victoriously in horrific times, have supernatural protection and provision, experience miraculous lifestyles, and be content and abound with blessings.
