'How to Get Away with Murder' season 2 release date, plot spoilers: First episode will give fans answers
Crime and murder shows are not something new to television; however, what probably sets "How to Get Away with Murder" apart is the way it is craftily written, utilizing the characters' undeniable abilities to manipulate the law to cover their dirty tracks. In the first season, a lot of mysteries have been solved for fans, such as the killer of Sam Keating, along with Lila Stangard's killer. However, just when fans thought they can now finally breathe, the finale showed the latest murder victim that became the show's ultimate cliff-hanger.
Avid followers of the show would remember how season 1 ended, with Rebecca Sutter, played by Katie Findlay, found dead by Frank and Annalise, after a make-shift trial. Many would assume it's Frank since viewers already know through a flashback that he was the one who killed Lila, and it would only make sense that he will try to eliminate all kinds of evidence. However, upon the discovery of the body, both characters have sworn to not have killed her, and so now suspicion falls on other people in the house.
According to Bustle, Viola Davis, who plays Annalise Keating in the show, and basically leads the show, talked about what to expect in the return of the ABC show. She says, "One thing I can share with you is it starts off with a bang. A lot of the mysteries will be solved and answered, and then absolutely a new one will be presented. It's just so complicated and fascinating, and that happens in the first episode."
Assuming from what Davis had shared, it seems that her killer will be revealed much sooner than Lila's and Sam's, which everyone will have to wait for almost throughout the whole season. Another question waiting to be answered is the motive of the killer. Rebecca certainly wasn't the most cooperative witness, however, she was crucial to the case, and so the season might revolve around how Annalise will handle the consequences of the Keating Five's actions.
How to Get Away with Murder season 2 will be returning this September on ABC.
