With that, Nowalk stated, "From what we saw, Frank was finding out that Wallace was Wes' father in the finale. Once Laurel told him, I think it was information he was getting in that moment. Say what you will why he would do that, but I think that definitely would make sense."

While Nowalk did explained in an interview that Frank killing Mahoney does make sense, there is still a chance that someone else could have killed Mahoney since he was known to have many enemies. The executive producer said, "I think I know who shot Wallace at this point and I will not tell you if you're right or not. I will say sometimes we like to shock you guys and sometimes we like to do what makes sense. It's all up for grabs."

Aside from his involvement in the murder, Frank will also be a focus in the upcoming season due to his past with Annalise. It was hinted that several episodes will show some flashbacks which will allow fans to get to know Frank better.

"How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3 premieres this fall.
