HTC Desire 728 Specs, Rumors: New Budget Midranger Gets Its Specs Leaked by TENAA

In spite losing in the flagship level of the market, Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is still hoping that it would be able to penetrate the affordable mobile market in China. A mysterious handset that was spotted on a Chinese certification website could be the answer to HTC's woes.

According to a report by Phone Arena, an HTC device surfaced and showed its specs in Chinese website TENAA, the site which is the equivalent of the FCC in the U.S. The website certifies handsets that are awaiting release in China, which means that this HTC phone is just around the corner.

Dubbed as the Desire 728, the Android-powered smartphone reported boasts some decent specs including a 5.5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, an MT6753 chipset that supports 64-bit applications, 2GB of RAM, an octa-core CPU running at 1.3GHz, a 16GB built-in memory and a microSD card slot.

Other notable specs of the device include a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front snapper to take care of selfies and video calls. The HTC Desire 728 will run on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop skinned by Sense 7, while a 2,800mAh battery runs the show. While the report did not confirm it, the smartphone would most likely be dual-SIM capable.

Based on the leaked images on Phone Arena, the unannounced HTC Desire 728 will pack a simple facade, a polycarbonate body, and a metallic frame. The phone is expected to be a China exclusive device, although it is possible that an international version would be launched as well.

The most crucial factor of this device is its price tag, but there are no details about that just yet.
