Huawei GX8 Now Available In Official U.S. Online Store; Specs Include 13MP Camera, 5.5-Inch Display
Huawei's GX8 smartphone can now be easily purchased in the U.S. as the device is now available in the country. According to GSM Arena, the retailing of the device in the country began last week but it was only available via Amazon. However, the handset is now listed as available in Huawei's official website, GetHuawei.com.
Android Authority also noted that the Huawei GX8 can now also be purchased through the online stores of Best Buy and NewEgg, and through Best Buy retail stores. The listing revealed that the available colors of the device are Mystic Champagne, Space Grey and Horizon Gold. It is priced at $349.99, which is also the same price at Amazon.
As for the phone specifications, Android Headlines noted that the GX8 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display. It features an aluminum body with its design somewhat looking like the Mate 8 and Nexus 6P. It is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage memory that can expanded further. It is pre-installed with Android 5.1 Lollipop topped with Huawei's Emotion UI 3.1 software.
The device sports a 13-megapixel BSI rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 28mm wide-angle sapphire lens, and a 5-megapixel front camera. It is also equipped with a high quality fingerprint sensor located just below the rear camera. Incorporated with new ID technology, the device can quickly recognize its owner through its fingerprint. The device can unlock as fast as 0.5 seconds. The sensor can also answer calls or control alarms if it's touched for a little bit longer.
Its battery life is powered by a 3000 mAh battery and its dimensions are 76.5mm x 152mm x 7.5mm with a weight of 167g. It also has six speaker sound holes for louder, clearer and optimal audio experience.
