Huawei P8 Release Date: New Android Flagship Sells Out at Launch In China

Prior to its announcement date last week, the Huawei P8 has been one of the worst kept secrets for the Chinese manufacturer.

However, those rumors helped consumers decide whether they wanted the P8 even before the device was announced.

And so when the Huawei P8 made its debut in China today, it reportedly sold out all available stocks through Vmall, its company retailer.

According to the report by GSM Arena, the new Huawie P8 is sold at 3,588 CNY or about $579. Unfortunately, there are no exact numbers regarding how many units the Chinese mobile company sold in the first day of its flagship's debut.

For Android and Huawei fans who have missed the press launch last week, the Huawei P8 boasts a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

Running the device is a HiSilicon Kirin 930 chipset, which is Huawei's own processor. Other specs include a 2,680mAh battery, a microSD card slot, a 13MP primary camera at the back, and an 8MP front shooter for selfies.

Rounding up the specs sheet is Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, topped with Huawei's Emotion 3.1 (EMUI 3.1) interface, and a 6.4mm thin body.

In the report, Huawei will be releasing the handset shortly in other markets outside of China, and the P8 will cost 499 euros in Europe, and $500 in the US.
