Idina Menzel Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction, Cracks Jokes About Mishap (VIDEO)
Idina Menzel is the latest Hollywood actress to fall victim to an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction while in New York City over the weekend.
The Broadway star performed during a one-night-only sold-out show at Radio City Music Hall on June 16 when the night took an unexpected comedic turn. While singing "Take Me or Leave Me" from the hit musical "Rent," Menzel's attention was brought to her outfit, which featured a leather bra under a silver dress featuring a deep V-neck.
"What? My boob's coming out," the actress asked the crowd as a crew member from backstage rushed to fix the bra top.
"Well she was a sexy character," Menzel added, referring to her "Rent" character while an attendant helped rearrange the bra-top.
"These divas need their stage," she further joked while pushing out her chest and eliciting laughter from the crowd. "Oh that's gonna be all over television. F--- it! They're real!"
Menzel's candid and funny reaction to the wardrobe malfunction was similar to the embarrassing introduction she received at this year's Oscar Awards. While announcing Idina Menzel to the stage, John Travlota flubbed the actress' name and instead introduced a Adele Dazeem. Nevertheless, Menzel took the stage with grace while performing a song from Disney's "Frozen," and a source close to the star said she "thought it was funny," according to People.com.
Meanwhile, Menzel is not the only actress to experience an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction recently. Eva Longoria experienced an embarrassing faux-pas while avoiding rain puddles at last year's Cannes Film Festival and exposed too much leg. Fortunately, similar to Menzel, the actress laughed off the incident the next day.
"Here's my dress for tonight," Longoria wrote on Twitter along with a photo of herself in a black full-length gown. "No wardrobe malfunctions tonight!"
Also, earlier this year, Britney Spears was forced to alter her performance in Las Vegas when her costume fell open in the back. The singer was able to recover from the wardrobe malfunction before assistants helped fix the problematic clothing.
