iOS 8 Beta 4 Release Date Set for July 21

The iOS 8 beta 4 release date could be set for July 21.

BGR reports that the new software will roll out exactly two weeks after the release of the third beta. The site believes Apple will take less time in between this release than it did between the second and third versions.

BGR is normally on point when it comes to predicting iOS beta rollouts as the most the publication has ever been off is by a day or so.

The iOS 8 beta 3 is now available for developers. Its build number is 12A318c and it can be downloaded through the company's over-the-air updating system or through the iOS Dev Center.

The update brings several changes including a new version of Find My Friends, a new Apple TV beta, and updates to Swift. It also comes with improved integration with OS X through Continuity, a Health app, Family Sharing features, interactive notifications, a new QuickType Keyboard and improvements to several apps such as Safari, Mail and Messages.

Several tweaks have been made to the operating system in the new beta as there are new options for iCloud Drive, a new Settings toggle for Handoff, and a new option to enable or disable QuickType. The weather app and some new wallpapers are also available.

iCloud Drive can be downloaded through a new popup window in beta 3 and the latest version of Find My Friends allows users to move their friends list to their iCloud account.

The upcoming iPhone 6 is expected to be released in September. iOS 8 will be officially introduced through that device. Apple first introduced the software during WWDC earlier this year. It will be available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch lines when it finally launches.
