iPhone 5C vs Nokia Lumia 930 Review: Comparison of Specs, Features, Price

Most smartphones nowadays come in sleek, classic, no-nonsense designs, and are encased in either black, white, or metallic shells. But those who would like a change from the usual will be pleased with the iPhone 5C and Nokia Lumia 930. Both smartphones are available in vivid colors that will surely turn heads, and what's inside the colorful casings are not bad either.

Design:
The iPhone 5C is wrapped in a brightly colored shell reinforced with a steel frame. The device measures 4.9 x 2.3 x 0.35 inches and weighs 4.65 ounces. Apple offers the 5C in green, pink, blue, white, and yellow.

Meanwhile, the Nokia Lumia has a soft touch matte plastic back panel and metal edging. The phone has a squared, angular look and measures 5.39 x 2.80 x 0.39 inches and weighs 5.89 ounces. It's available in bright orange, white, vivid green, and black.

Features:
The iPhone 5C has a rather small display—it's only 4 inches with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels with a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch. In contrast, the Lumia 930 has a 5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and pixel density of 440 pixels per inch. Both displays are bright, but one will find that the Nokia phone is more readable under direct sunlight.

The Apple phone is available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants, however, these are not expandable, which is similar to the Nokia phone which is available with 32GB of internal storage and does not have a microSD card slot.

The iPhone 5C runs on the iOS7, while the Lumia 930 comes with Windows Phone 8.1. The Apple phone comes with its home apps such as iTunes Radio, Safari and Compass. Lumia 930 users in the U.S. can use the digital assistant Cortana, which is just like Apple's Siri.

When it comes to cameras, the Nokia phone wins this round as the Lumia 930 is equipped with a 20MP rear-facing shooter, while the iPhone 5C has an 8MP camera.

Price:
Without contract, the Apple iPhone 5C starts at $520, while the Nokia Lumia 930 costs $410.
