iPhone 7 Release Date: Upcoming Apple Smartphones Rumors Roundup

Earlier this year, there were rumors that Apple will be banking on the success of its new larger iPhones, although it would opt for the iPhone 7 later this year. The bigger version is said to be the iPhone 7 Plus.

However, just a few months have passed and those same sources are now pointing to the upcoming smartphones as the iPhone 6s, and the iPhone 6s Plus. Based on the rumors, the upcoming devices will be a tad thicker than their predecessors.

Fortunately, the guys at MacWorld believe that these are merely rumors, and there is no way that Apple would produce a thicker iPhone even after was able to produce its thinnest iPhones last year.

Aside from the two iPhones that are set for announcement some time next month, another device will reportedly be launched shortly after, an 'affordable' iPhone 6c.

Going back to the two expected iPhones in September, there are also rumors claiming that Apple could place an even higher screen resolution for both devices, especially that the Retina display was found out to be lacking on the newest iPhone's huge displays.

In addition, there are also rumors that the upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus would both get a major upgrade in camera resolution. The rear cameras of both devices may be upgraded to as high as 12 or 13 megapixels and pack DSLR-like capabilities, allegedly.

Moreover, there are also rumors that like the new MacBook 2015, the new iPhones would get a Type USB-C port. Other rumored specs include much better battery performance, thanks to the newly-optimized iOS 9.

Like previous models of the iPhone, the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (also known as iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus) would get several storage options beginning from 16GB up to 128GB. The smartphones are also expected to boast improved fingerprint sensors, a bigger battery, and Force Touch technology.
