Is The 'Killer Note' The Lenovo K4 Note? Phablet To Be Launched In India January 2016
Lenovo has repeatedly taken to social media to hint at a device that will be released under the tagline "A New Age Dawns" and the hashtag "KillerNote." A report in Gadgets 360 speculates that this is the company's flagship phablet that's called the K4 Note. The social media posts also say that the device will be launched in India during the first week of January 2016.
The K4 Note is said to be the successor of the Lenovo K3 Note, which was released in India in the middle of 2015. The device turned out to be a surprise earner for the company, owing to its relatively low price point for a device with decent specs. According to the Gadgets 360 report, Lenovo reportedly sold over 1.2 million units of the device since its release.
Because of the device's success, the company is said to be getting ready to unveil another phablet as a follow-up to the K3 Note. According to the teaser image shared by Lenovo India, the upcoming device is said to sport a fingerprint sensor, an in-demand security feature among today's smartphones, and has an all-metal body. No other information about the handset's other specs is available at the moment, nor has Lenovo made any official announcement about the device yet.
Given that this device is going to be a next generation phablet, it is expected to have better specs than its predecessor, the K3 Note. The K3 Note has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it has a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 SoC, paired with 2 GB of RAM. Internal storage is 16 GB and is expandable by up to 32 GB through a microSD card. It is also equipped with a 13-megapixel main rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel secondary front-facing camera. Its battery is a removable 2,900 mAh battery. The dual-SIM device offers several connectivity options such as 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi among others.
