Janet Jackson Billionaire: Singer Joins Billionaire List Through Tours, Albums and Films (VIDEO)
Janet Jackson is a billionaire, according to reports out this week.
News about the exploding wealth of Michael Jackson's sister has hit the Internet this week, with reports claiming that Janet has now officially become a billionaire.
According to OMG!, most of Janet's wealth comes from her massive concert tours, which the publication estimates has brought in about $450 million for the pop star.
Another big chunk of her wealth has reportedly come through her album sales – she is one of the best selling female artists of all time, making more than $260 million from the sales of her various albums throughout her career.
Janet has also had her stints in the acting industry, and she apparently has received about $300 million for her parts in films such as The Nutty Professor and Four Colored Girls.
About $100 million has also been brought in from Janet's licensing and publishing fees.
She is also married to billionaire retail tycoon Wissam Al Mana, who made his massive fortune by shrewdly investing in the Middle East.
There also is no signs that Janet will stop anytime soon, and she is reportedly currently working on a new studio album, which should inflate her fortune even more in future years. That new album will also likely lead to more tours, and could see Janet jet across the globe as she has done for her previous albums.
Janet has said: "I am working on a new project now. We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music. I am excited about the direction we are taking. I don't want to rush it… I don't want to put a time constraint on the creative process"
