Jay-Z Engineer Leaks Information on Rapper's Next Album and 'Watch The Throne 2'
Young Guru, who frequently engineers for rapper Jay-Z, was recently interviewed by Complex and revealed some information on the rapper's plans for his twelfth LP.
"Jay-Z is always working on stuff, it's a concept that I can't talk about but I'm marveled at how smart this guy is," said Guru. "When he told me the concept I was like 'Why didn't I think of that? It was just so simple."
The engineer went on to describe how the concept would affect the LP as a whole.
"It's not a concept album though," he continued. "It's not like American Gangster, it's not a Beatles concept album. It has a concept and title, and the title and concept fit him so well that people are going to be like 'Wow.'"
Guru went on to explain how the title of the album is simple, but conveys an incredible message. He was so impressed with the rapper's plans for the LP he could not help but wonder why it has not already been done.
Guru also touched on the possibility of Jay-Z and Kanye West uniting once again to craft a sequel to last year's wildly popular collaborative album, Watch the Throne.
"It's definitely a serious consideration," he said. "Hasn't been underway yet but definitely serious consideration."
Guru explained how Jay-Z and Kanye West would not just say that the album was coming to tease the fans, but that they would actually put it out and back up their words.
"The way I would like it to go- I would like Kanye to do the G.O.O.D. Music album and Jay-Z to do a solo album then they go out and tour, and then next year, or the end of next year, we get Watch the Throne 2."
He feels that Kanye West needs to release his G.O.O.D. Music album first in order to establish his brand before he and Jay-Z can begin working on WTT2.
