Jeremy Lin News: 'Linsanity' Star Joins Charlotte Hornets

After a so-so performance for the Los Angeles Lakers this past season, "Linsanity" star Jeremy Lin will once again try his luck in searching for a team where he will be used.

And earlier this week, the former Harvard standout has tweeted that he would be suiting up for the Charlotte Hornets.

According to a report by ESPN, Lin is expected to be introduced to the media by Monday.

"We are excited to add Jeremy Lin to our lineup," said Charlotte general manager Rich Cho. "He is a talented player who we feel can make significant contributions to our basketball team."

Cho also added that the team has been in trying its best to improve its offensive capabilities with several additions through free agency. Aside from Lin, the Hornets management has also traded for frenchman Nicolas Batum, Spencer Hawes and Jeremy Lamb.

Meanwhile, Charlotte has also drafted the Associated Press Player of the Year, Frank Kaminsky, during his college year last season.

Coming to the Hornets, Lin is expected to relieve main point guard Kemba Walker off his playmaking duties, and would most likely command the team's second unit. However, it would not be surprising if Lin would play as a shooting guard, specially after playing alongside prolific scorers and ball-handlers James Harden with the Rockets, and Kobe Bryant with Los Angeles.

In his career, Lin has been shooting a respectable 43.7 percent from the field, as well as a decent 34.9 percent in long range territory. Surprisingly, Walker has lower percentages compared to the incoming guard.
