Jeremy Lin News 2017: Returns With a Vengeance as He Leads the Nets to Victory
It has been a turbulent season for the Brooklyn Nets since the season started after point guard Jeremy Lin suffered injuries, causing him to be out of the court for extended periods of time. But now that he's finally recovered, he and his team is trying to return strong.
According to CBS Sports, Lin has scored 16 points for the Brooklyn Nets during the 141–118 game against the Philadelphia 76ers. He was also able to add seven assists, five rebounds and two steals, showing he is in to help his team recover after they've been considerate of his plight.
It can be recalled that Lin had a terrible hamstring injury last Nov. 2 during a game against Detroit, causing him to be in and out of the ring. While he tries his best to be back in shape the quickest way possible, he really needed time to recuperate fully, and given his performance, it looks like he's back to his old self.
In an interview with Newsday, coach Kenny Atkinson said that it wasn't just Jeremy that caused the team to win, but it was truly a collaborative effort. Everyone is now playing as they should, and the numbers indeed show that.
"I think our habits are starting to kick in a little better," Atkinson explains. "It's us getting a little more familiar with each other, the system. But the one thing about Jeremy being back is it puts everybody else in their place. We had guys maybe not in the role that was right for them, maybe asking them to do a little too much. We just have more stability."
Everyone is hoping that the time of injuries is over. One can remember that he had a slight ankle injury during the game against the Dallas Mavericks, but then he brushes it off. "This is more of my comfort zone. Every basketball player has gone through ankle injuries," he tells the New York Post.
Hopefully, things go uphill for Lin and the Nets.
