Jessica Alba: 'I Don't Deprive Myself' of Food I'm Craving

Jessica Alba imparted sound dieting advice that has kept her red carpet-ready over the past few years.

The "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" star is well known for her fit figure, and the actress has graced the covers of countless fitness magazines. Now, Alba is a spokesperson for Zico coconut water as part of their "Crack Life Open" campaign. The actress, who founded the Honest Company, revealed tips for "living your best life" while speaking to People.com this week.

"I don't deprive myself … I have [junk food] if I want it," she said. "When I do feel that I am depriving myself, I find that I binge. That's not a balanced way to go about it."

Alba's advice echoes the same sentiments she had during her second pregnancy with her daughter, Haven in 2011, when the actress said she refused to ignore pregnancy cravings.

"Sometimes you can't get a food out of your mind," the starlet explained at the time, according to Latina magazine. "I could always eat watermelon. With [eldest daughter] Honor, I loved fruit, too. It's a decent craving. You still eat cheeseburgers and pickles- you just want watermelon really bad. I don't deprive myself of anything. I eat whatever."

Today, Alba noted that she avoids processed foods and squeezes in morning workouts, but that motherhood has brought on new feelings toward fitness.

"As I've gotten older and after I became a mom, it became more of a priority to be healthy for the right reasons," she explained to People. "It's more important to have a balanced approach instead of trying to be perfect."

Alba is not the only Hollywood starlet to share insight to healthy living. Jessica Simpson, who is now a spokesperson for Weight Watchers, often updates fans on her workout regime.

"These are my legs during a workout today! I'm proud of myself," the fashion mogul posted to Instagram along with a photo last week.
