Former "Biggest Loser" trainer Jillian Michaels has revealed the true reason she left the series, which contrasts with earlier reports that she willingly left the show.

"I asked for changes and they said no," Michaels told MailOnline in a new interview, "so in my opinion, I believe it was their choice. I was willing to stay if certain changes were made and they said no. Unfortunately, over the years we've had many differences in opinion on how I thought things should be and producers thought things should be and I didn't quit."

It wasn't the first time that Michaels left the popular weight-loss series. She originally took a break in 2006, staying on the show for five years before leaving again in 2011. Her return was hyped by the show, and fans tuned in to see the "tough as nails" trainer do what she did best, which is what contributed to her permanently leaving.

"I have kids and a persona has no longer become advantageous," the mother of two explained. "And when you are constantly perpetuated as screaming and yelling when you are not even screaming and yelling—I have children and I'm trying to help people and there comes a time where it just starts to become counterintuitive."

Rumors surrounding her departure began immediately after she announced she would not return. Michaels was visibly shaken by contestant, and winner of Season 15, Rachel Frederickson's 155-pound weight loss. When Frederickson made her big reveal, Michaels could be seen mouthing, "Oh my God!" and looking on in horror.

"I thought she lost too much weight without a doubt," Michaels said. "She came in at 105 pounds, and I would like to have seen her come in at 135 pounds, so weighing around two stone (28 pounds) more than she was."

Now Michaels is focused on raising daughter Lukensia, 4, and son Phoenix, 2, with partner Heidi Rhoades. She is currently promoting her lifestyle tour on the Maximize Your Life series.
