Joe and Kendra Duggar are Married
Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell have tied the knot on Friday, Sept. 8 at a romantic ceremony in Arkansas attended by family and close friends.
Joseph confirmed the news through a video posted by TLC, where he says, "We are happily married now and just got done with the ceremony."
The 22-year-old Joseph is the latest member in the family to wed. Jim-Bob and Michelle Duggar's seventh child exchanged vows after a four-month engagement with 18-year-old Kendra Caldwell, who is his childhood friend. Joseph proposed at his sister Joy-Anna's wedding in May.
The pair were wed by Kendra's father Pastor Caldwell. The couple chose blush and navy as the theme for their romantic nuptial. The bride wore a white cap sleeve wedding gown.
As expected from the Duggar children, Joseph had his first kiss with Kendra at the wedding.
When asked about how it was, the couple agreed on it being "amazing."
"You always have expectations of the first kiss but it blew all those expectations away," Joseph said. "It was amazing."
"I think when we said, 'I do' inside our vows and everything, I think it really was a super sweet time and it was, I think just made it more real," Kendra added.
According to Joseph, they are excited to start this new chapter in their lives, specifically to raise their own family.
Though in real time Joseph and Kendra are now husband and wife, in the all-new season of the reality show "Counting On," their courtship continues to unfold.
On a different note, Joy-Anna is already expecting her first child with husband Austin Forsyth.
"Counting On" airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC. Fans of the series will be able to catch a sneak peek into Joseph and Kendra's wedding on TLC GO this Monday, Sept 18.
