John Stamos and Caitlin McHugh Announce Their Engagement

John Stamos has popped the question.

The "Fuller House" actor is now engaged to his girlfriend of two years, actress Caitlin McHugh. Stamos took to Instagram on Sunday to announce the big news, posting an illustration of him and McHugh embracing in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle. "I asked ... she said yes! ... And we lived happily ever after," he wrote in the caption, alongside an emoji of a ring.

Stamos proposed at Disneyland over the weekend. He made a short film featuring romantic moments from different Pixar and Disney films. The footage ended with a scene from "The Little Mermaid," with one character prompting Stamos to "just ask the girl."

The "Scream Queens" star and McHugh then celebrated the night at 21 Royal, an exclusive restaurant at the Anaheim theme park where Walt Disney used to host dignitaries and famous celebrities. Stamos decided to propose at the famed resort because his now fiancée is a great fan of Disney.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Stamos shared what made him believe McHugh was the right person for him. "We're a perfect balance," he explained. "I'm like hyper and tense and she's like, 'It's cool man. Everything's fine.'"

Stamos added, "She's so calm and so graceful, which I'm not either of those things. So it's a great balance," he adds. "And she's just a pure, authentic beauty. Like she's not trying to be something she isn't. She doesn't care about money or showbiz."

McHugh and Stamos have been in a relationship since 2016. McHugh has appeared on many TV shows, including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "The Vampire Diaries" and "NCIS: Los Angeles."

His engagement to McHugh means Stamos will have a chance to be a groom for the second time. The TV star was famously married to actress Rebecca Romijn in 1998 until their divorce was finalized in 2005.
