Jose Aldo News: Ex-Featherweight Champion Wants McGregor Rematch Even If Not For Title?

Former long-time featherweight champion José Aldo is aching to have his revenge over current 145-pound king Conor McGregor, even if it means not fighting for the title.

McGregor ended Aldo's six-year reign as world featherweight champion through a single straight left to the jaw, within 13 seconds of their main event title fight at UFC 194 last December 12 in Las Vegas. Prior to the fight, both Aldo and McGregor have been involved in a long-standing feud that began in April of the past year, during the world press tour of their originally scheduled title fight at UFC 189 in July.

McGregor is now slated to take on another huge challenge, as he goes up in weight and faces lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos with the 155-pound world title on the line. The fight wil take place at UFC 196 (formerly UFC 197) on March 5th in Las Vegas. With "The Notorious" already booked for a fight, Aldo recently revealed his immediate future plans.

In a nutshell, he only intends to face Conor McGregor, and no one else.

In a recent Instagram post, the Team Nova Uniao standout still made it clear that he wants another title shot at featherweight. But this time around, he says a fight with McGregor, no matter what the condition, is something he is adamantly pushing for.

"My only exception would be fighting The Notorious, at any time, anywhere. Since he is scared and knows I'm gonna win, it doesn't have to be a title fight against him. Keep my belt, but I want to whoop your ass anywhere," an excerpt of Aldo's post reads, according to a Bloody Elbow report.

He ended his post by challenging UFC big wigs, president Dana White and Chief Executive Officer Lorenzo Fertitta to make the fight happen, adding that he "still believes in the company" he works for.

Prior to his loss to McGregor, Aldo held an 18-fight win streak, which lasted for nine years.
