Joshua Revolution Expects Over 4,000 Teen Christians for Winter Conference
Jesus Christ will be at the center of the celebration for billions of Christians on Christmas Day but one group of Christian teens will continue to celebrate Jesus for being the same yesterday, and today, and forever, two days after his birthday.
Joshua Revolution, a city-reaching youth ministry based in Niagra Falls, New York, will be gathering Christian teens across racial and denominational lines for its 2004 conference from Dec. 27-30.
Since the groups birth from Western New York Youth for Christ in 2001, more than 35,000 people, including middle and high school students, have attended its conferences, formerly known as the Niagra Youth Conference.
That number will increase by at least 4,000 this year as participants from northeastern US, Canada, and Sudan are expected to fill Rochesters Blue Cross Arena.
Attendants will participate in a series of Power Sessions laced with worship gatherings, prayer meetings, and dance performances.
Every student will be schooled in what scripture teaches on living the victorious Christian life, how to lead someone to Christ says the conferences Web site (www.joshuarevolution.org/jr2004).
One highlight of the conference will be a prayer and worship meeting open to the public at Sister Cities Bridge on Dec. 29 when students will to pray for Rochester and the nation.
Joshua Revolution held its 2003 Niagra Youth Conference in Buffalo, NY, and has sponsored conferences in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Birmingham, AL.
Mike Chorey, executive director of Joshua Revolution, told Democrat and Chronicle that the ministry has signed a contract to return to Rochester next year.
