Joy Williams' 'Hide' Tops Charts On Multiple Formats
Single receives Nielson Certified Christian Spin Award
Reunion Records artist Joy Williams hits No. 1 this week across multiple formats with her record-breaking song Hide. Charts that saw Hide at the top this week include Billboards Hot Christian Adult Contemporary and Hot Christian Singles and Tracks charts, R&Rs AC Indicator and CHR charts, and CRWs CHR chart, where the single spends its second week in a row at No. 1.
Already hitting the 10, 000 spin mark, Hide is also this months recipient of the Nielsen BDS Certified Christian Spin Award for outstanding Christian radio airplay achievement.
Hide began its impressive radio run with an unprecedented first week, claiming 47 out-of-the-box adds on the Christian AC format -a feat that set all-time records on both the R&R Indicator and CRW AC charts with 60% more adds than the previous record holder.
Hide is the initial single off Williams third album release, Genesis, which the artist is currently promoting on a 20-city tour. Williams is also gearing up for an intensive fall touring schedule with details forthcoming.
Now 22, Williams launched her career as a songwriter and a vocalist at age 17. Her previous albums released to date include the 2001 debut Joy Williams and 2002s By Surprise, which included the No. 1 single Every Moment. In 2002, Williams was voted Best New Artist in CCM Magazines Readers Choice Awards.
