Judge John Roberts & Pope John Paul II Featured On Sky Angel This Month

Nationwide satellite television provider Sky Angel will be broadcasting several, “entertaining, inspiring and informative,” programs this month, beginning with the Family Research Council’s Nashville rally Justice Sunday II: God Save The United States and this Honorable Court.

The event, which is the follow up to the original Justice Sunday rally in April that spoke out against Democrats filibustering against President George W. Bush’s judicial nominees, will center on judicial activism, the Supreme Court and the latest nominee in the high court, Judge John Roberts.

Simulcast live from Two Rivers Baptist Church in Nashville, Tenn., Justice Sunday will feature a host of speakers including Sen. Zell Miller (D-GA), Focus on the Family President Jim Daly, National Association of Evangelicals President Ted Haggard, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, and others.

Musical guests include Australian-born Rebecca St. James and daughter of legendary country singer Hank Williams, Jett Williams.

"I am pleased that Sky Angel has agreed to provide churches across the country access to the Justice Sunday II simulcast which will educate pro-family Americans on what they can do to defend family, faith and freedom," said Tony Perkins.

Justice Sunday will air live this Sunday, August 14, on Sky Angel’s special events channel, Angel Two/Channel 9702, from 7-8:30 p.m. ET and re-airing 9-10:30 p.m. ET for Central, Mountain and Pacific viewers’ convenience. (www.justicesunday.com).

Also slated to air this month is Hallmark Channel’s much anticipated U.S. television premier of their original movie event, A Man Who Became Pope.

The four-hour biopic chronicles the journey of young Karol Wojtyla from his Polish homeland to becoming Pope John Paul II.

Pope John Paul II, who saw the film prior to his death, is quoted by Vatican press spokesperson Joaquin Navarro-Valls as being “impressed” and “appreciative” of the work. Morevover, Pope Benedict XVI, who praised A Man Who Became Pope from his Sunday address from the Vatican, screened the film on May 19 (the day after what would have been Pope John Paul II’s 85th birthday) for the Cardinals, Bishops, priests and other authorities.

A Man Who Became Pope will be premiering on Monday, August 15, at 8 p.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel. An encore presentation of A Man Who Became Pope is scheduled to air Sunday, August 21, at 9 a.m. ET on Hallmark Channel.
